Bill’s new Edublog created on August 30, 2008

This is a personal blog to use over the next few months.
I want to increase my blog skills and see how the Edublog compares to Blogger for features and ease of use.
My previous account created in the OET unit was no longer able to be accessed when the password was reset. It has disappeared off into cyberland somewhere.

Hey Bill
Checked out your word document (as the PowerPoint would not open for me). Nice line about Humphrey B Bear Fan Club-You wouldn’t want to be a member of Fat Cat’s Fan Club, he was a stripper on the side.
Also letting you know that I viewed you Kentucky Linking Rinks Trick.
Cheers
Hi Bill,
Thankx for viewing my camstudio tute.
However I think your comments miss the point of the M/S Word demo, perhaps this because you’re use to working in TAFE. The tutorial was aimed at prep age children who were opening and using Word for the very first time. Having taught preps over a number years for ICT I know they need every detail spelt out clearly. So what might be waffle in TAFE was necessary at the prep level. I’m glad you have time to script all your lessons, unfortunately i don’t. It was an authentic demo that the prep children could use.
The demo was able to be played in a loop whilst the children were working so that they could refer back to as needed. This freed me up to get to students who needed other specific help, it also allowed me do assess students. This is extremely difficult in a primary specialist class of 4o mins duration, esp when some of this time is taken up with swapping classes over.
The prep teachers also used this video in their classes!

Andrew
Not that I would ever sling off at primary teachers, but when I get asked “Do you do a magica show for adults?” my reply is “Yes. It is the same show that we do for the kids, only slower!”
In your prep classes, who had more difficulty-the teachers or the students?
